Spicy Crunchy Chickpeas

Looking  for a better alternative than pretzels or crackers.  Try these for a change.  They have a nice crunch but have more fiber and protein. 

Spicy Crunchy Chickpeas

2 Tbsp.  olive oil  (you could also use a flavored oil from f.Olivers)

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. cumin

1 tsp. allspice

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. pepper

2 – 15 1/2 oz. cans of chickpeas.   Drain and rinse to get the extra salt off.   Pat dry thoroughly.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Line a large rimmed baking sheet with foil.  In a large bowl combine olive oil and spices.  Add chickpeas and toss to coat.  Place on baking sheet and roast, stirring or shaking baking sheet often, untill chickpeas oare browned and crunchy, 45-50 minutes.  Let cool before serving.

You can also change the spices around to your liking.  This is a way to add a lot of flavor with out any calories.

Per serving(1/4 cup)  120 cal., 5g fat, 0mg cholesterol, 4g fiber, 4g protein, 536mg sodium.

I like to eat them just as is or add to the top of a salad.  ENJOY!
